ONLINE GIVING FAQ
Can I give my tithe and offerings online with a credit or debit card?
Absolutely. Giving online is the easiest method to give to Timberlake using a card.
Why would I want to give online?
Security and convenience make online transactions an increasingly popular means of donating to an organization. Plus, your ministry enjoys administrative savings (manual check processing and record keeping add up in a hurry). You also can take advantage of the discipline that recurring donations can provide for your giving.
Are my contributions tax deductible?
Yes. Timberlake Church is a non-profit organization registered with the IRS as a 501(c)(3). Your contributions are therefore tax deductible and applied in accordance with IRS regulations.
What are the ways I can give online to Timberlake Church?
The best way for you to give online is through our Timberlake Portal. You can also choose to give through Paypal.
What is the Timberlake Portal?
The Timberlake Portal is our portal for you to edit your personal information like email and phone numbers, see your Growth Group information, sign up for events, and manage online giving.
How do I give through the Timberlake Portal?
Visit www.timberlakechurch.com/portal. There's also a login button at the top right corner of the Timberlake Church website. Then you'll need to login using your unique username and password. If it is your first time giving online, you will need to create a username and password. Click on the giving tab once you're logged in to view both your giving history and schedule payments.
Is online giving secure?
Yes, the giving process is safe and secure from beginning to end. Once you set up an account with a username and password, only you will be able to access your account. Every transaction is also encrypted with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), the same industry-standard encryption trusted for online commerce with world-class financial organizations. When you give online, your transaction is secured via the same fraud protection as when you purchase something.
Can I use an e-check for my donation?
Yes! In fact it's the best way to give so Timberlake can avoid paying a 2-4% transaction fee that credit cards charge.
When will the transaction go on my account?
You set the date when you want your card charged.
Can I schedule recurring donations?
Yes, you can specify whether you want your contribution to be made once or be recurring, even down to how often you want it to recur. You also control the day and recurring amount.
Can I give as little or as much as I want?
Donations must be a minimum of $5 and there are no limitations on the maximum amount.
Will I receive a contribution statement?
Timberlake Church mails a giving letter and contribution statement multiple times throughout the year. You can also view your giving records online through the Timberlake Portal.
What if I want to make changes to my recurring giving? Or simply want to adjust the date or amount of a contribution?
You can make changes online anytime. This includes if you want to edit, delete, or pause a scheduled contribution, or if you need to update your card or bank information. These changes will need to be made under the username and password that originally created the schedule. However, previous contributions cannot be altered.
I received an email stating that my contribution didn't go through. What do I do?
Double check all of the information you entered in the system is accurate including current card information and the billing address. If you are set up for recurring giving, it may be because your card expired and you need to update the new card info.
