Thursday January 27, 2011

Theme: Rethink: Serving
Weekend Music links on iTunes: All to You - Lincoln Brewster, Today is the Day - Lincoln Brewster, Hosanna - Hillsong, I Will Follow - Chris Tomlin
Read: Ephesians 6:18, James 5:16, Galatians 6:2
Think: One unthreatening, anonymous, and incredibly powerful way to serve is to pray. Ephesians 6:18 instructs us to pray at all times, particularly for the requests of our fellow believers. James 5:16 asks us to pray for one another. Galatians 6:2 tells us to carry one another’s burdens and one great way to do that is in prayer.
Timberlake has a powerful and diligent prayer team. In 2010 there were over 50 wonderful answers to prayer reported.
“Thank you for your prayers! I am currently working and have had several offers for more work!”
“Our house was up for sale for 1-1/2 years. We had creditors calling. Friday it sold!”
“He went to the neurosurgeon and there is no long term damage to his back!”
Praying and hearing of God’s answers to our prayer is such a fulfilling service. James 5:16 tells us that our fervent prayer makes a big difference.
Do: Pray for your family everyday, pray for your friends and co-workers. If you are interested, consider becoming part of the Timberlake prayer team.
Pray: Father, I know how important prayer is to You and how You love to bless Your children by answering our prayers. Teach me to pray effectively and to serve Your church in this important and practical way.
The eDevotional is written each week by a team of volunteers from Timberlake Church.
