What's the difference between Baptism and Dedication?

Rather than baptizing infants or children, Timberlake encourages Christian parents to dedicate their children up through the age of four or five. Baptism is for those who have made a personal decision to follow Jesus once they have the maturity and ability to understand what that means. Child dedications are for families to show their desire to raise their child in a God-honoring way.

What happens after I sign up?

You will receive an email with details and then as your participation is confirmed, we'll be in touch with information about what to expect and the schedule. We encourage you to make this a special day! Invite family and friends to church to share in this special spiritual step.

Do we need to be members of Timberlake Church?

You do not need to be a member of Timberlake Church to have your child dedicated. We do, however, encourage parents to call Timberlake their home church. Be sure to check out our beliefs and vision. And even better, is to attend our Discover Timberlake class to find out more about the “DNA” of Timberlake.

To have your child dedicated at Timberlake parents should

  • Have a personal relationship with Jesus
  • Be regular attendees of Timberlake’s weekend services
  • Be seeking to follow Jesus as they raise their family
  • Be sure their beliefs line up with Timberlake’s statement of faith
