Over the last three decades, we have seen and experienced story after story of life change that all started because a small group of willing people said yes to creating a church for the unchurched. In 2013, Timberlake purchased the old Duvall Church building in downtown Duvall, providing a hope-filled future to a historical location. This 120-year-old building gives the perfect mix of a traditional setting with a modern flair. For the past 6 years, we have leaned into our mission to make more and better disciples of Jesus Christ. And, at each milestone along the way, people just like you have stepped up and paid it forward, personally and financially, so that more people could experience life and freedom in Jesus. And now, we are upping our commitment to being committed to the 40% of people in our region who have never considered setting foot inside a church.
This is an exciting season at Timberlake Duvall as we are experiencing God in a new way and we don’t want to miss out on what He is doing. With this growth, we need to update and reconfigure our spaces to create better and easier flow for adults, and to create updated spaces for our kids. Additionally, we need to steward the amazing location and historic building by investing capital into preventative maintenance and normal upkeep. Because we have an older building, we need to do some upkeep on it to maximize our ability to reach the community of Duvall.
The goal for FAITH FORWARD is to create an environment where people from every generation can experience the low-shame, high-grace love of Jesus all the while retaining financial integrity. The size and scope of this project will be based on available resources; however, it will encompass three endeavors:
One of our church values is investing in the next generation. Our kids and students are the leaders of the future both in and out of the church, so we will continue to make the next generation a priority. The reimagining of our student and kid’s areas will make it possible for us to help even more students and kids discover the love and hope found in Jesus Christ. As we create spectacular spaces for kids and students to cultivate meaningful relationships with their peers, spiritual leaders, and God, we know that an immeasurable number of lives will be transformed as they take their “Next Right Step”.
Acres of Diamonds was established in 1995 as a local non-profit that creates lasting life change for homeless moms and their kids. Acres provides a safe place to recover, to rebuild and to break the cycles of addiction, poverty and abuse. Since 2013 Timberlake Church has been the parent organization of Acres of Diamonds in Duvall.
Compassion House in Issaquah also offers transitional housing for homeless women who are recovering from trauma and domestic violence and who have two or more children. With your help and financial commitment, our very own Acres of Diamonds will be expanding and acquiring Compassion House.
As the community of Duvall continues to grow with young families, there is an ever-increasing need for a preschool with solid Christian foundations. To launch this much-needed preschool in Duvall and make a big impact on our community, we’ll need to bring our beautiful historic building up to code or purchase another piece of property.
