You'll hear from multiple pastors on our team about all of our ministries and have the opportunity to connect with other people who attend our church. Lunch and childcare provided.

What does Baptism look like at Timberlake?
When you sign up to be baptized, someone from our team will reach out to you with everything you need to know for the day. When you arrive at church, you’ll check in and receive a free baptism T-shirt and a few helpful items.
Before the service, you’ll have time to change and meet with a pastor who will walk you through exactly what to expect. During the service, you’ll step into the baptism pool with volunteers who will guide you through the entire experience. Our team will be there every step of the way to make sure you feel comfortable and ready.

"Christ died for our sins... He was buried... and He rose again." 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
"For when you were baptized, you were buried with Christ, and in baptism you were also raised with Christ." Colossians 2:12
It illustrates your new life as a Christian.
Being baptized doesn't make you a believer in Jesus — it shows that you already believe. Being baptized doesn’t save you — only your faith in Jesus does that. Think of baptism as you would a wedding ring — it’s an external, symbolic representation of a commitment you’ve made in your heart.

Yes! We love to baptize families together, provided that each person (couples, parents with children, etc.) has personally placed their trust in Jesus and fully understands the meaning of baptism. It’s also a powerful way to move forward together as a family, spiritually.
Water baptism gives you a great opportunity to testify about God’s work in your life. Jesus' death and resurrection destroys the enemy’s claim on you and allows you come alive spiritually, now and forever with Jesus — what the Bible calls everlasting life. Becoming a Christian by believing in Jesus means you’re now a restored, new person spiritually (on the inside). Baptism is how Jesus-followers announce their heart transformation to the world. We encourage everyone to invite their family and friends to the baptism service. Those who can’t be with you physically will be able to watch online.
Most people wear either long swim trunks or dark shorts and/or leggings. We’ll give you a blue "Made New" T-shirt to wear during your baptism and also provide you with a towel. Make sure to bring a change of dry clothes (we’ll give you a plastic bag for your wet ones)!

Here are some things to watch for:
• Your child has made a clear decision to ask Jesus into their life.
• Your child has a clear understanding of what baptism means.
• Your child brings up and talks about baptism a lot.

We recommend children be age 11+ and have the ability to clearly share their testimony of when they decided to invite Jesus into their life. We’re always happy to speak with younger children to help determine if they’re ready to be baptized.
Continue talking with them and let them know you are proud of them for wanting to be baptized. Our Timberlake Kids team can recommend additional resources to help you too.
Yes. Everyone who gets baptized at Timberlake is immersed underwater, as it happened in the New Testament.

There’s no better time to celebrate everything God is doing in your child’s life and in your family. Consider grabbing some ice cream after the service, buying them a new Bible, or inviting friends over for a party to celebrate. This is a significant Next Step for a child too!
